Category:
Grade: Star
Duration: 14 days
Minimum Altitude: 1300 meters
Maximum Altitude: 6012 meters
Departure: Mar, Apr, Sep, Oct, Nov

The Dhampus peak is situated in the northeast of the Dhaulagiri range; from here one can get an understanding of the huge difference in altitude between the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. The summit offers close and excellent views of Tukuche and Dhaulagiri. This summit is remarkable in the sense that it is a breathtaking vantage point from where one can observe as many as thirty peaks and this makes it incomparable to other summits in the Himalayas.

Besides acclimatization, one does not require the fundamentals of climbing to make the ascent on Dhampus. The commonly used route to the summit is the west ridge. This ridge also serves as a link to the Dhampus Pass ( 5200 m ). The High Camp is established here before summiting the peak. Depending on the speed and stamina of the climbers, the ascent can take anything from one to one and a half week. Dhampus peak is ideal for those who seek easy adventures in climbing .
