|Maximum Altitude:||8516 meters|
|Departure:||Feb, Mar, Apr, May, Sep, Oct, Nov, Dec|
Mt. Lhotse ( 8516 m ) is the nearest in proximity 8000 meter neighbor to Everest, separated by a pass ( South Col ). The south face of Lhotse, in all probability the largest in the world, is a looming wall of glittering ice and snow that rises three kilometers and has a width of 2.25 kilometers. From a majority of places in Khumbu, this magnificent wall often surpasses the glory of Mt. Everest which seems to be defeatedly jutting its crown out of the extended massif. If your time allows, you can combine all the stunning Everest region destination treks to make it a fulfilling experience. In order to achieve this, you may need to make minor detours and take bypasses either on approach or return. As your incentive, you will benefit from the experience of the world’s most prized trails and remarkable mountaineering victory. There is no otherworldly comparison to surpass the panoramic views that you get from the unmatched vantage points. As an added bonus, the warm and genuine hospitality of the Sherpa people, their life, culture, religion, and quaint villages and monasteries will help you etch everlasting memories in your mind. You have the most possible option of combining the Lhotse Expedition with the Everest Expedition as the South Col that separates the two culminates at 8000 meters and Lhotse is just a mere 610 meters above it. In past expeditions die-hard, passionate mountaineers have been able to conquer the summits of both Lhotse and Everest within a span of 24 hours. Since its first ascent in 1956, there have been more than one and a half dozen successful ascents of this peak. Though the southern wall of the mountain looks more tempting, the more traversed and the established route follows the north-western face and is the westernmost in the Lhotse massif. In the past, some daring climbers have made attempts on the more challenging southern face, but this has resulted in failures and even worse, fatalities. Come join us for the Lhotse Expedition, the fourth highest mountain in the world. Expeditions commence from the end of March till the end of May / early June every year.
