On your first night, you will be accommodated in one of the most recommended heritage hotel in Kathmandu, Dwarika’s before we fly off to Lukla. Having spent a day acclimatizing, we trek up to the Sherpa capital of Namche Bazaar. We ascend steadily up the Everest trail, passing through typical Sherpa settlements, with plenty of time for rest and recuperation and also absorbing the magnificence of the surrounding mountain views. Our trek takes us to the antiquated Buddhist Thyangboche Monastery where the Rimdu festival is observed in autumn. We return via the old trading route of Tibet.

Day 1-2

Fly into Kathmandu. Transfer to Dwarika’s hotel which is an excellent 5 star heritage hotel and furnished in ornate Nepali-style architecture and provides a soothing ambience for relaxation.

Day 3-4

Fly to Lukla and trek to the hamlet of Monjo (5-6 hour treak). Next day will be a walk to Thaksho Hill to assist in acclimatization.

Day 5

Trek to vibrant Sherpa settlement of Namche Bazaar; en route we will be treated to superb mountain views and gorges, waterfalls, alpine forests and steep vertical rock faces.

Day 6-7

Proceed on trek to Tashinga and then upto Thyangboche Monastery where afternoon prayers can be observed.

Day 8

Trek to Mong La Pass (3960 metres / 12,992 feet) from where you can see captivating views of Ama Dablam. This is the highest point of the trek. (3 hour trek)

Day 9

Proceed on trek to the villages of Khumjung and Khunde via the top of Namche Bazaar. Then to nangpo Dzangpo Valley to the Mende lodge. Visit Edmund Hillary School and medical centre (5 hour trek)

Day 10

Proceed to Thame village which is a delightful and picturesque village that provides scenic views of snowcapped peaks. Visit monastery which is over 600 years old. Back to Mende. (5 hour trek )

Day 11-12

Trek to Monjo and then proceed onto Lukla. En route visit the Gumila monastery. (4-5 hour trek)

Day 13-15

Fly back to Kathmandu. Sightseeing of city with visits to Durbar Square (old Palace) and the revered world heritage Boudanath Stupa. Shop for souvenirs. Transfer to airport for international flight back home.
